The phone-only setup for short-form video
Every Ghost Creator in the network shoots on a phone. Most never buy anything else. Here's the full setup, what's worth adding later and what to ignore.

Why native beats polished
Short-form platforms reward content that looks like it came from a real person's phone. Over-produced videos read as ads and get skipped. That makes the phone-only setup not a compromise but the correct tool for the job.
The requirements to become a Ghost Creator are deliberately minimal for this reason: a recent phone that shoots 1080p, and the discipline to use it well.
What you actually need
A recent phone
Anything from the last 4 to 5 years shoots clean 1080p. Wipe the lens before every session. That's 80% of image quality.
A window
Daylight from the side or front. Never shoot with the window behind you. Free and better than most ring lights.
A free editor
CapCut or the in-app editor. Cuts, captions, music and speed ramps are all you'll use.
Eye-level framing
Stack books or lean the phone on a cup. The lens at eye level reads as natural. From below reads as amateur.
Auto-captions
Most viewers start with sound off. Turn on auto-captions and fix the typos.
Storage and backup
Clear 20GB before a batch shoot. Back up raw clips so you can re-edit a variant for another account.
